About Me

Introduction

Hello! My name is Jacob Mazelin, and I specialize in building modern and functional websites for individuals and businesses. My expertise lies in enhancing your online presence, particularly for local businesses in Mattawan and Kalamazoo.

My Mission

I am dedicated to supporting my community by creating high-quality websites for local businesses. My goal is to help “modernize” Mattawan and Kalamazoo by promoting an effective online presence for businesses, helping them connect with their audience and grow in the digital world.

My Journey

My journey into web development began with my high school robotics team. I noticed that their website was outdated, so I volunteered to completely redesign it. In the process, I learned how to optimize the website to rank high in Google search results, how to make it visually appealing and functional on mobile devices, and how to improve its speed and performance.

Building on this experience, I founded the Computer Club at my high school. We created a website for a local nonprofit tennis academy. Both projects equipped me with the skills and passion needed to assist my community by creating websites that meet their unique needs.

Hobbies and Interests

Reading and Learning from the Greats

One of my favorite hobbies is reading, particularly biographies of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs. I seek inspiration from the journeys of visionaries like Steve Jobs, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Naval Ravikant. Some of my favorite books include:

  • Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
  • Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness by Eric Jorgenson
  • Creativity Inc by Ed Catmull

Programming and Robotics

Another passion of mine is programming robots. As the team captain and lead programmer of my robotics team, I teach others how to program and utilize various technologies. Over the summer, we meet weekly to explore topics like:

  • Moving a motor
  • Using sensors
  • Writing efficient and effective code

Our team recently won a competition at GVSU, triumphing over some of the best teams in the state.
